Respite

One of my assignments for my first painting critique. Still getting used to ho BRIGHT Hydrus watercolors are. The palette in the set I have all blends very well. It’s actually difficult to make muddy colors. You really have to set out to do it deliberately.

And the nightmare painting is finished. I am so glad to be done with this. The fumes from the lack of ventilation made my illness so much worse.

If I’m going to complain about this painting killing me, I suppose I should at least upload a preview of what it looks like. Photo quality isn’t great; I’ll try to take a higher depth photo later.
The trees came out nice at the top, at least? Top isn’t quite finished I need to figure out what else I’m doing with it.
Painting also still needs glazing and a bit more flicking. Not going to lie, toothbrush = favorite brush, right now. I am clearly such a professional oil painter. Also this image wound up flipped horizontally, I don’t know how, and I’m far too tired to fix it.

My current painting wip. I’ll try to post a time lapse later. My mother actually has more pictures than I do.
It still needs stars, more cloud definition, and a few colour washes, + railroad track details and rocks added in.

Pretty chuffed with this shot. I’ll be using this photo as reference for a painting I’m working on.
