Some things my mother threw for a collaboration we’ll be working on.

This was the largest all in one pour I’ve ever done. I’d estimate 125oz of paint all at once.
Before I’d been pouring in sections. It made it difficult to match edges of the pour well, but I had to avoid large pours or the canvas would sag.
My solution was to construct a temporary brace beneath the canvas to support it, letting me mix a LOT more paint at once for a much more continuous pour.
Well, 1 40×100” painting down, as soon as this dries. One to go.

A collagraph plate I’m working on! I hope to print this afternoon.
So, a while back I sent some expired film I’d shot off to Lomography’s lab to be developed.
I love expired film. So unpredictable! Some shots look completely normal. Then there’s ones like the er…
pink… one.
No clue what happened there!
The negatives are on their way back to me, so I’ll probably have a crack scanning them myself, but I’m pretty pleased with these!
Another fresh pour. I’ve learned a lot from my recent experiments! As always, better pictures of it once it’s dry.
Dimethicone vs Silicone in acrylic. Both using Floetrol.
The dimethicone moves pigment MUCH MUCH more actively. Silicone requires the torch to bring out and has less activity but creates the cell blooms on the right.
Neat to see the difference you can get out of the same five colors with different chemistry.
I’ll get better pictures once these can be dried & moved.
Playing around with different chemical inclusions today to see how they effect fluid paint and cell formation!
Heading to the zoo today to test out my new telephoto c:
Testing a few different mixtures for how they behave and effect cells.
Feels nice to be doing fluid acrylics again!

Man was not meant to paint this fast.
A tribute to Leonora Carrington, done for a show at my university for women’s month.
