Sorry for the radio silence here! Been crazy busy. Spent the day helping our latest artist to exhibit set up, and finished the last bit of topstitching on my beanbag. It needs a teeny bit more stuffing but it is VERY comfy.
I may post a tutorial on how I made the pattern once I have time!

That’s a LOT of resin curing on that piece! About 500 ml (shhh those of you that do gallons at a time. My wallet hurts thinking about it.) + a detail shot of that swirl at the hip because it’s so pretty.
This piece will likely get another, final coat. But we’re getting closer to done! It will receive a final shot of this progress stage once it’s dry enough to stand upright without coating the floor.

The plan for today is to develop my last two rolls of shot film, work out which images I want contact negatives of, and get a few cyanotypes printed.
Hoping to also get a layer of resin on the painting I just posted!

More work on Words —
The Word For All the Things they Took From Me
Waiting on it to dry and then it’ll receive its first layer of stabilizing resin.

Working on a painting for my Words series.

Finished this pillow up yesterday! It’s wonderfully soft and squishy. Now all that’s left is to tweak my pattern a bit so I can scale it up for the beanbag chair I’m working on for my furniture design class.
Ran my first bath of cyanotypes in the new space last night. They did…not come out well. I’m going to try again today to troubleshoot. Looks like the paper continued to bleed after it was washed, too. @_@
Hopefully it’s something I did last night out of tiredness (like not letting the paper sit long enough) and not an issue with the paper sizing being ill suited!
I was given permission to convert the old etching room in to a wet lab for Cyanotype, as we no longer work with acid in printmaking.
This was a tall order. The etching room was filled with old work and abandoned equipment. Every counter surface was covered in gunk and grime and who knows what chemical residue. (I can guess, considering the bottles of abandoned phosphoric acid I discovered.)
Still, nothing a bit of pinesol and a few hours of elbow grease can’t fix.
The room still isn’t in perfect shape, but the counters are now workably clean, my trays are in place, and a drying space for hanging rinsed prints has been set up. All I need is to assemble a drying rack for treated paper, and I will be able to leave the poor dark room be, so that the fundamentals students will have full use.
Making filters!

Prepping for a transparency for Cyanotype. I’m exploring its uses for printmaking a bit.
